Week 7 Part A: Get Visual with Instagram - Let a Picture Tell the Story

For this class I will use the Instagram that I already have. From the last few weeks I have been working on the social media for the gym I want to open, but for the Instagram I will use the Business Account I manage for the coach of the gym and Athlete.

I find very interesting and quite difficult to have a business as a personal. You do not promote a product, you promote yourself and your services. It's interesting too how hard it is to find some research and guidance on the publicity and public relations for Athletes, something that it's so commom for major sports such as football, soccer, baseball...

Working on Gabriel's Almeida image will directly influence the visibility of our business once the followers can migrate from one page to another if they find it interesting. Usually when a celebrity decides to start a new brand with her name on it (for example Rihanna with make up brand), the fans of the celebrity tend to support this brand, if you think people say more "Rihanna's brand", rather than the real name.

Just giving a background on why I decided to work with a personal page as my business for Instagram.

I believe that for some areas, Instagram is more used than Facebook and I found that for sports like Jiu Jitsu that can be true.

Gabriel's page has 10.4k followers. I find that the followers are very engaged once most posts have a good amount of likes and comments.

The content that we usually post is related to:

Coming up competitions

Past victories on competitions

Ads of sponsors

Interaction with followers on stories (tools such as question box, polls and others are really helpful)

Seminars

Exercise/Health routine

The posts are usually with pictures and not so many texting, once his followers are divided between Brazilians and Americans and we translate for both languages most of the posts.

We also post reels with positions and techniques.

One thing that we need to work on is the consistence and time we should post, having more discipline over it in order to create a page more professional and attract more followers with more content.
